Promotional Pricing is designed to assist you in setting inventory prices for sales during a date range. You have the option to set up sales prices through an Item Group Discount, a Promo Retail Price, or by a Promo Price Code.
Promotional Pricing is found in Inventory>Analyzer >> Window >> Promotional Pricing. Click the + button to create a new Promotional Pricing Card. Enter a description for the sale you are entering sales prices for (e.g. Day After Thanksgiving Sale).
Enter the start and stop dates for when you want the sales prices to be in effect. You may also enter a time to start using the sales prices and a time to revert back to regular item prices. If no time is entered with the date, it will assume the complete 24-hour period.
Enter the Item ID and other information from the Item Cards by clicking the Add Items button and selecting an item. The Promo Item Group Discount, Promo Retail, and Promo Price Code,and Item Group Discount columns are used to enter the discount you want to apply for each item for the sale. Enter the appropriate information in the column that you wish to use for the sale. Select the Items involved with the sale.You may also select items by placing the cursor in the Item ID box and scanning the item barcode or hand keying the Item ID or Misc. 1 ID. This method works well if you have a cart or box full of several separate items – rather than finding each item individually in the list, you can enter them randomly as pulled from the collection set aside for the sale. Discontinued, overstocked, damaged, miscellaneous etc. items are easily entered with this method.
NOTE: When an item is entered, POSIM will display its current information to assist you in assigning a promotional price.
PROMOTIONAL PRICING OPTIONS
You will need to determine how to create sales prices. The Promo Item Group Discount, Promo Retail, and Promo Price Code, and Item Group Discount columns are used to enter the discount you want to apply to each item for the sale. Enter the appropriate information in the column that you wish to use for the sale. The following are descriptions of the each option.
PROMO ITEM GROUP DISCOUNT
This feature allows you to give discounts on an item or group of items when purchased in groups. You can determine a price break to come into effect either by the quantity purchased or the amount spent, and the price break can be administered in either a percentage off or an amount off. To access this feature, open Inventory>Analyzer >> Window >> Item Group Discount. The example in the screenshot below shows a Thanksgiving doll sale, where the price will be reduced by $50 if 3 or more dolls are purchased.
PROMO RETAIL PRICING
Promo Retail Pricing would be to simply enter the retail price desired during the sale. On the promotional pricing card, we have entered $34.99 for the Xylophone. The original price is shown in the Our Retail column of $48.00. Purchases made during the sale would save customers $13.01 on each xylophone.
PROMO PRICE CODE
Promo Price Code will refer to an already established Price Code card ID and calculate the item’s sale price. If the item is usually price code A which is only 10% off, during a sale you can change it to G which will be 60% off. POSIM will automatically change the price to reflect the different price code. You can also save the Promotional Pricing card and run the same sale again. Any of these methods can help you ring up the right price ring up for the right item at the register.
Please note that an item can only be on one sale for a given date. This prevents POSIM from having to decide for you which price to honor from what sale.
